Will o’ the Wisp is a character featured in the novel Fable: Reaver. He was one of the pirates in Captain Dread’s crew.

Story[]

By the events of Fable: Reaver, Wisp was one of the pirates among Captain Dread’s crew, and accordingly to Dread himself, Wisp happened to be the stealthier and most furtive man he ever seen.

Wisp was so thin that it was said that, when he turned sideways, he was invisible. Shadows made more noise than he did. He was also exceptionally fast on his feet, and quick-thinking besides.
— Wisp's description by Captain Dread

Due to his abilities, Dread often used Wisp as a personal spy every time he needed to watch a possible enemy, hence why, in the novel, Dread sent Wisp behind the last messenger that arrived in the inn the pirates were located in with the goal of following such man who was said to return to Reaver, whom Dread was planned on eliminating.

However, said messenger turned out to be Reaver himself in disguise, who easily realized he was being followed and promptly killed Wisp.

Reaver then hanged Wisp’s corpse from a tree near the inn the pirates were, nailed Wisp’s arms and legs branches of said tree, extracted his eyes and fashioned them in a collar around Wisp’s neck much to the horror of the pirates who soon found him.
