It was his son, the renowned tailor Jimmy Welley, who had the idea of producing the uniforms for costume parties.

- The designer, Arthur Welley, is a reference to Arthur Wellesley, The First Duke of Wellington, known for the defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte. Welley's Soldier Outfit, and the soldier uniforms of Fable III that are based on it, closely resemble the British Army uniforms of the Napoleonic era.
