The Wasp is one of the most common enemies encountered in Fable, Fable: The Lost Chapters and Fable Anniversary. There are three variations of the Wasp and are commonly found in the Greatwood region. Although weak individually, Wasps are formidable enemies in large numbers.
Types[]
- Green Wasp: The weakest Wasp. First encountered in the Wasp Menace quest, they are extremely weak and even in numbers pose little threat to the Hero. A few shots of Lightning or a couple of swings from a sword will easily dispatch them.
- Red Wasp: The middle class of Wasps, this Wasp is much more deadly than the Green Wasp. Found at higher Renown levels, this Wasp can inflict massive damage in numbers but poses little threat alone.
- Blue Wasp: The 2nd most deadly Wasp in the game, this one will easily drain the health of unarmoured Heroes, making them extremely deadly. They can, however, be easily dispatched by a surround spell like Enflame.
- Wasp Queen: The most deadly Wasp, this is the boss of the Wasp Menace Quest. It is extremely large and has the ability to summon Green Wasps.
Stats[]
Name | Health | Experience | Renown | Resistances | Weaknesses |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Green Wasp (Small) | 20 | 5 | 2 | N/A | Lightning Augmentation |
Green Wasp (Big) | 40 | 5 | 2 | N/A | Lightning Augmentation |
Red Wasp | 30 | 8 | 3 | N/A | Lightning Augmentation |
Blue Wasp | 50 | 12 | 4 | N/A | Lightning Augmentation |
Notes[]
- The Wasp Queen is the only wasp that has a trophy associated with it.
- The Wasp Queen is the only type of wasp that isn't affected by Lightning Augmentations.
- Despite being a higher tier, Red Wasps do significantly less damage than big Green Wasps. Their speciality however, is that they are much quicker at striking than any other wasp.
- The theoretical highest single hit on a wasp would be 6400 with a frying pan holding 5 Lightning Augmentations (16000 if you include Berserk 4), but it's impossible since no wasp affected by those augmentations has higher than 50 health.
Bugs[]
- Sometimes all the Wasps and Beetles on a map will randomly ignore the player and other NPCs that walk near them. While they will ignore you if you push them, this is fixed by simply attacking them or leaving the area.
Trivia[]
- The Wasp Queen's Head Trophy actually sprays particle effects when it is dropped or spawned onto the floor.
- The Wasp Queen is the only boss in the game which plays a specific sound, whenever it strikes at the Hero of Oakvale.
- An earlier build of Fable calls the Wasp Queen's Head Trophy the "Evil Wasp Head" while in the Hero of Oakvale's inventory.
- In the game files for Fable, the (small) varient of Green Wasp is referred to as "Easy Wasp" and is used for the Wasp Menace quest.
- The game files for Fable refer to the textures of Wasps as Thingy which was also the first name ever thought of for the game, before it was even developed.
