What happened to The Hero of Bowerstone?

Spolier Alert!!! :] in Fable III's E3 trailer it stated the hero was dead is this true? i thought you'd see them in the story and is there any clue to who caused the death? should we edit the hero of bowerstone's info to desceased? there are so many questions i need answered! :o thxeveryone for all the comments on my blog and it all means alot toward the countdown to Fable III enjoy reading! :]
