The Fable Wiki:Image use policy/Licensing an image

The instructions below detail how to relicense an image if its copyright tag is missing or incorrect.

1. Find the file that needs to be relicensed, and go to its details page. This page will be called File:FileNameHere.***, and can usually be reached by clicking on the image. Alternatively, it can be reached using the View photo details button .
   • 
     For example, the details page for the image here is File:Example.jpg.
2. Edit the page, and go to Source view.
3. Under the ==Licensing== header will be a template link of the form {{template}}.
   • If these are missing, copy the following into the top of the File page:
     ==Licensing==
{{No license}}
4. Replace the {{No license}} or other template tag with an appropriate alternative from below.
5. Preview the page to make sure the licence displays correctly.
6. Save the page to add the licence and automatically categorise the file.

• Wikimedia:
  • {{From Wikimedia}} I got this from Wikipedia or another Wikimedia project.
• Free licenses:
  • {{GFDL}} This is licensed under the GFDL
  • {{GPL}} This is licensed under the GPL
  • {{Other free}} This is licensed under another free license.
  • {{cc-by}} This is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 2.5.
  • {{cc-sa}} This is licensed under Creative Commons ShareAlike 1.0.
  • {{cc-by-sa}} This is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 2.5.
  • {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} This is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 3.0.
• Public domain / no rights reserved:
  • {{PD}} This has been released into the public domain by the copyright holder, the copyright has expired, or it is ineligible for copyright.
• Fair use and With Permission:
  • {{Fairuse}} This will be used in a way that qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Note that Lionhead images are considered Fair Use, but should use the {{Lionhead}} tag.
  • {{Attribution}} This is copyrighted, but use is permitted if the copyright holder is properly attributed.
  • {{Permission}} This is copyrighted, but use is permitted by the copyright holder.
  • {{CopyrightedFreeUse}} This is copyrighted, but use is permitted without conditions.
  • {{CopyrightedFreeUseProvidedThat}} This is copyrighted, but use is permitted with specific conditions.
