Russell is a character in Fable III who gives out the quest Framed for Murder, which becomes available after The Masquerade. He is an art dealer and can be found standing by his stall beneath the bridge in Bowerstone Old Quarter.

Russell is an avid collector of the paintings of Thomas Kaidkin, a relatively unknown artist who he believes has potential to be great and famous. Russell has been diligently buying these paintings, hoping to sell them for a profit, but he knows that the public isn't interested in buying the works of an obscure artist and therefore offer very little for his paintings. In order to increase Kaidkin's fame, and thus the value of his paintings, Russell requests that the Hero murder him, offering five hundred gold for the deed.

If the Hero accepts the quest and murders Thomas Kaidkin, the after-quest message indicates that with the artist's death, the asking price for the paintings has gone up considerably, seemingly guaranteeing Russell's plan and indicating that it worked.

Trivia[]

  • A Letter to Russell the Art Collector from Arthur can be found on the table next to him. It reads, "My dear Russell, you're a jumped-up arrogant buffoon who thinks he knows about art but really doesn't. Yours sincerely, Arthur."
