Pawnbroker

A Pawnbroker is a type of store that is located in many of the larger settlements in Albion in Fable III. Pawnbrokers are unique in the sense that they are the only shop in Fable III that the Hero can sell their items to. The Hero can sell as many of their items they like within the limit of how much gold the Pawnbroker has at the time.

To sell items, walk towards the podiums located to the right of the till. Upon approach all the current items in your inventory which can be sold are displayed. The items are sorted by type, for example clothing. If there are many items then they will be displayed in pages which can be flipped through by using the bumpers (Xbox 360). To change to a different category of items (such as changing from clothing to weapons) can be achieved by using the triggers (Xbox 360).

Notes

• Items such as quest items, gold keys, silver keys, trophies and condoms cannot be sold to Pawnbrokers.
• If the Pawnbroker does not have any more gold to purchase items then they will be restocked and prepared to buy more if the Hero comes back after a few in-game days.
• Sometimes the Pawnbroker can bug out and not refresh it's money for quite some time if at all, no matter how many regions you travel to or how long you sleep... This can be fixed by going to any pawnbroker and fast traveling away, wait a few days for a new shortage to start. Return to that pawnbroker, now ideally before the first travel the Pawnbroker should have their money in the red, but not zero. (I have not tested if this works if they do not have zero money.) And when you return via fast travel you should sell items till they have zero money left. Now leave the shop and stand out in the open a ways away from the Pawnbroker and save your game. (Make sure not to be standing in a home or a another store as this can break the game clock.) And after you have saved press the home button (or the Select and Start buttons at the same time on Xbox One.) And press X to sign out.. After you've signed out press B button till you are at the Fable 3 home screen. (it'll ask you "Press Start to continue.) It will then ask for your profile, select the profile you just signed out of. and reload the game.. The Pawnbroker will now have a full stock of cash that you can sell to them for.... Repeating these steps immediately afterwards does not refresh their gold again. But Fast Traveling away and coming back in a few days during a different shortage will. (Tested on Xbox One 2/15/2023 during Day 121 of the Weight of the World.)
• For the above note about refreshing the Pawnbroker's gold reserves. It is unknown if you have to leave a little bit of their gold fast travel away and then comeback, or if you can leave any amount of money in their reserves.. But it seems that it will always trigger a refresh of gold if they start a new shortage when you are not in the region. (unknown if it does not work if they haven't had at least one shortage. i.e. they buy/sell for normal prices immediately after the first after reloading shortage has ended and no new shortage has started.)
