John Silke is a British, Sound Designer and Voice Actor from the Greater Guildford Area in the United Kingdom (England). John is mostly known for his role as a Sound Effects Designer for Lionhead Studios during the development of the original Fable. He also voiced the protagonist of that game, called the Hero of Oakvale. Before working at Lionhead, John would work as a Sound Designer for Rare. He would also go on to work as both a Sound Designer and Voice Actor for many other games such as Perfect Dark, Perfect Dark Zero, Star Fox: Adventures, Kameo and The Movies.

• According to an interview with the developers, the Hero of Oakvale's hair and facial features are based off his likeness.
