Well, look at this, fresh blood for the big fight. Name's Grove.
— Grove, to the Hero

Grove is a character in Fable III. He is a soldier stationed at Mourningwood Fort. He is seen sitting around a camp fire in the corner of the fort while reading an early draft of Ben Finn's autobiography and talking to Gould and Tick. After the Hero uses the mortar and begins the fight with the hollow men, Grove will fight the horde alongside Gould. He is killed in the battle.

Trivia[]

  • Grove scored 1640 points on the mortar mini-game.
  • Grove wrongly accuses Tick of making up the word "sycophant".
  • Grove never breaks a promise.
  • Grove is unique in that, unlike the other soldiers in the fort, he will only speak the first time the Hero interacts with him, and will not speak again, despite having multiple lines of recorded dialogue.
  • Grove's manner of speaking and his reading of a book before the eve of the battle are very similar to that of Lance Corporal Harris from the British TV series Sharpe.
  • Grove's comment about his book not containing battles, orgies or violence in general is also a direct quote by Lance Corporal Harris from the TV series
