Damian Buzugbe is a British, Principal Conceptual Artist that lives in Brighton, United Kingdom (England). He is well known as a Senior Artist for the Fable series and is often credited as being the one responsible for the look and feel of characters in the original game, most notably the Hero of Oakvale, Thunder, The Bard and Twinblade. Most of the original Fable's concept and advertisement artwork, both traditional and 3D models, where designed and created by him. Damian would later contribute as an artist for other games in the series, such as Fable II and Fable Anniversary edition.

Before being employed at Big Blue Box Studios and Lionhead Studios, Damian had worked as an artist and designer for a game called Renegade Racer. After leaving Lionhead Studios, he would go onto work as an artist for other games such as Kinect Nat Geo TV, For Honor, Legendary Eleven and Hyper Scape.

Before BBB Studios[]

Before being employed at Big Blue Box Studios and Lionhead Studios, Damian Buzugbe had worked as both an artist and designer in the late 90s for a Playstation game called Renegade Racer by Interplay Entertainment.

Big Blue Box Studios[]

According to Dene Carter, Damian Buzugbe was one of the earliest members of the development team over at Big Blue Box Studios, despite joining pretty late in the game's development. While working at Big Blue Box Studios in the early 2000s, Damian would create a lot of the conceptual and advertisement-based artwork as the team's Senior Artist, for the game that would eventually become Fable on the original Xbox. Many members of Fable's development team often credit him as being the one responsible for the look and feel of characters in the original game, most notably the Hero of Oakvale, Thunder, The Bard and Twinblade.

Lionhead Studios[]

Damian would continue working as a Senior Artist at Lionhead Studios for Fable II in 2008, but would leave Lionhead during the development of Fable III. However, he would temporarily return to the company to help as a Senior Artist for Fable Anniversary in 2014.

Freelance[]

It appears that Damian doesn't work at a company anymore and instead uses his experience as a professional artist to do freelance work for various companies, including Ubisoft, Eclipse Games and even licensed Disney games. After leaving Lionhead Studios, he would go onto work as an artist for other games such as Kinect Nat Geo TV, For Honor, Legendary Eleven and Hyper Scape.

Trivia[]

  • He is apparently the creator of the unused dragon, Trogdor.
  • In interviews, Damian has claimed to be inspired by Anime, which is why his characters have exaggerated features.
